Minor illness nurses

Our minor illness nurses are specifically qualified to manage and treat a range of minor illnesses, and our nurses will work with our GP team to manage your acute / same day / urgent problems.

Practice nurses

All of our practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They are here to help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings.

The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes and carry out cervical smears.

Nurse associates

Nurse associates are qualified and registered individuals who under the guidance of a registered general nurse and provide continuing direct and indirect care to patients including phlebotomy (drawing blood), ECGs, vaccinations and monitoring and supporting patients with long-term conditions and chronic diseases.

Health care assistants

Healthcare Assistants carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks and support practice nurses with their daily work.

They may also act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
